Tamralipta Institute of Management & Technology (TIMT) was established in the year 2007 by Haji Sk Kazem Ali under the banner of N.H.K Welfare Foundation. The objective was to create highly professional manpower in various discipline of engineering and technology keeping in mind the repaid industrial development of the whole country in the context of present globalized environment.

TIMT started its journey in the year 2007 with two courses of studies – all 3 year full time Bachelor Degree courses – BCA (Bachelor of Business Applications) & BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) both Affiliated to West Bengal University Technology. Later in 2008 two new courses – B. Sc (H) in Biotechnology & B. Sc (H) Microbiology were added. In 2013 the name of the University was changed from West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (MAKAUT, WB). Our college has also received affiliation from MAKAUT, WB for running the Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospital Management from the academic session 2018-2019.
